インディペンデントプロジェクトにおける「Web Designer」とは

ミーティングで話題になったSil van der Woerdの映像、YouTubeでも人気ですね。

海外動向のなかで、写真家や画家が、なぜ「Web Designer」を肩書きに加えるようになったか、とても興味深い話でした。Webも作品の一部という認識で管理下に置きたいということですが、いわゆる「自分の作品を発表するためのホームページ」ではないというのが重要です。彼らに言わせれば、HTMLのコーディングもアート表現であり、Webを技法体系のひとつとして考えています。

WoW効果を狙った企業のWebプロモーションが「Web Designer」も兼ねる芸術家に集まる。人々を感動させる作品を期待されているが、企業の仕事である限り「機能」としてのWebサイトでなければならない。このバランスをコントロールしているのが優秀なWebプロデューサーたちである。

インディペンデント・アートの分野とWeb、面白くなりそうです。

Lolly Jane Blue
Lolly Jane Blue is the singer of the song and music video Worms, my latest project.

Microbia
In 2003, childhood friend Floris Kaayk and I, formed our web-based platform Microbia, which
currently functions as an online short film channel. Here we broadcast and support our films. A returning subject in the films is combining organic and mechanic elements as well as blending Live Action Video with Computer Graphics. In the future, we would like to transform Microbia into our own Studio / Production House.
